Manchester Just Keeps Getting Greater
The AJ Bell Great Manchester Run, is back on Sunday 21 May for a spectacular celebration, marking 20 years of the event.
Whether you take on the 10k or Half Marathon, you’ll line up on the iconic start line and feel the goosebumps as you and 25,000 other runners follow the famous route past Manchester landmarks, before a grandstand city centre finish.
With a rollcall of world-beating past winners, famous faces on the start line and all the action televised live on the BBC, the event is a North West icon, but this year’s landmark 20th event promises to be the most special yet.

It’s all about the Bling! Get ready for post-race selfies with the showstopping 2023 finisher medal, inspired by the 20th staging of the event.
A party from start to finish! With rocking music zones & live bands at every turn, roaring charity cheering squads, plus the incredible local support who line the streets to cheer you on, it’s an experience like no other.
A post-race party! Runners, families and friends can kick back, relax and enjoy the post-race celebrations in the Après Run zone, with a live DJ turning up the feelgood!
Get the t-shirt. To mark the 20th celebrations, organisers have worked with a local artist to create a truly unique finisher t-shirt for runners to wear with pride.
Timed pacers powered by music! Our pacing team are always on hand to give runners the best possible chance of smashing out a personal best, but this year the TalkTalk pacers will be blasting out tunes all along the course to keep motivation high.
Support from sign-up to the finish line. We offer support from the get-go with training plans & advice, race day prep and motivation every step of the way, you will be roared across the finish line and applauded in the event village once you’ve conquered the challenge.
You can get the kids involved too. The Junior & Mini events are for ages 3-16 and offer high-energy fun from beginning to end, crazy costumes, lots of high fives and a very special finisher’s. Calling all kids who love to run: on your marks, get set, go!
World famous. It’s one of the world’s biggest and best running events, with tens of thousands of runners taking to the streets in search of PBs, a big dose of personal achievement, and for charity. Wear a wacky costume & you might even appear on the tele!
