Great Run announces Enthuse as new official online fundraising partner

Christmas Entries Open Soon Sitewide

The Great Run Company today announced a new three-year partnership with Enthuse, a leading fundraising, donations and events registration technology provider. Enthuse will become the official online fundraising partner across their national series of events, including the UK’s biggest running event, the Great North Run.

Enthuse will support each event with a branded fundraising platform that provides the best experience for charities, event participants and donors.

The partnership will start with the highly anticipated ballot result announcement for the Great North Run later this month. Successful entrants into the ballot will receive a link to the new official Great North Run fundraising platform, powered by Enthuse as part of their registration. For those buying charity places in the event, they will be presented with an official, bespoke, fundraising page when they redeem their charity tokens through Great Run from March onwards.

For all other Great Run events, customer fundraising page creation will be seamlessly integrated into the event registration process, with no need to create a separate account. Unlike traditional platforms, the pages can be fully branded by the charity, through their own Enthuse account, which is provided free of any subscription charges, maximizing revenue for the charity.

This account will also allow charities to access insights, analytics and live fundraising and donations data for their supporters. A series of new features coming during the year will include the ability to capture any custom data required as well as showing the availability of match giving funds to donors.

Fundraising pages will provide a hub for participants for their fundraising and training activity before, during and after the event.  Participants can post updates, images and videos to their page and even livestream their efforts on the day of the event to allow supporters to follow their progress. Fundraisers can also have some friendly competition with other participants through leader boards for the amount they’ve raised, their activity levels and finishing times.

Fundraising events are set to return as an important part of charities income for 2022. In a recent Charity Pulse research report by Enthuse Intelligence, out of all fundraising areas, charities rated events as the key growth area for the next 12 months, with more than half (56%) predicting a rise in fundraising income from the area.

Paul Foster, Chief Executive of the Great Run Company said, “We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Enthuse at this critical time for charity fundraising in the UK.

“Our events have always been about giving people the opportunity to achieve something great. We’re incredibly proud of the tangible difference our runners have made through supporting good causes over the last four decades and we’re sure this new partnership will allow many of them to take their fundraising to the next level.”

Speaking about the announcement, Chester Mojay-Sinclare, Enthuse Founder and CEO, said: “We’re really excited about the opportunity to work with Great Run, and are proud to be powering fundraising for the world’s biggest half marathon as well as the company’s other amazing events.”

“From our founding, Enthuse has always put charities first to help them raise more for their cause, and this partnership accelerates our momentum in delivering this across mass challenge events. The partnership represents a real shift in the sector and we are delighted to be working with organisations like Great Run to transform fundraising for charities.”

All Great Run partner charities will be featured on the official fundraising platform later this month, alongside all other charities registered with Enthuse before February 25th 2022.
