The AJ Bell Great Scottish Run is back on Sunday 5 October 2025. Sign up now and SAVE for a limited time. 

With a city centre start and finish, the AJ Bell Great Scottish Run is a celebration of everything that is great about Glasgow: inspiring urban architecture, green spaces, history, music, strength, spirit and, of course, great people, personality and humour. Thousands take part in the half marathon or 10k running event each year to challenge themselves and to raise money for good causes. And Scotland’s friendliest city always delivers on the support front too, with crowds of locals turning out each year to cheer and high-five from beginning to end. Plus, there are medals, finisher t-shirts and bragging rights for all!

AJ Bell Great Scottish Run entries are open to runners aged 15+ (10k) and 17+ (Half marathon) on the day of the event. Booking fee (£2.50 per entry) and Glasgow Council Environmental Levy £2 + VAT (£2.40 per entry) is applied at checkout. If you have any queries about Great Run events, see our FAQ page.

What You Get

We have made the decision to introduce optional finisher tees to our Great Run events. You can choose to forgo a finisher tee shirt at the point of entry, and in lieu of this we will make a donation to the National Trust Woodlands Appeal. Find out more here. We will donate a portion of the fulfilment costs for each runner who chooses this option to the fund and commit that this donation to be a approx. £20,000. Living with the reality of a long term health condition can be confusing and isolating. Every day activities such as picking up a knife and fork, making a cup of tea or leaving the house can feel like a massive challenge. Today, one in five people in Scotland are living with the effects of chest, heart and stroke conditions. More people than ever before need our stroke nurses, rehabilitation support workers and peer support groups. Motor neuron disease (MND) is a brutal terminal illness which can rapidly strip a person of their ability to walk, talk, swallow, and breathe unaided. Someone’s lifetime risk of developing MND is 1 in 300 and the average life expectancy is just 18 months from diagnosis.
