With a city centre start and finish, the AJ Bell Great Scottish Run is a celebration of everything that is great about Glasgow: inspiring urban architecture, green spaces, history, music, strength, spirit and, of course, great people, personality and humour. Thousands take part in the half marathon or 10k running event each year to challenge themselves and to raise money for good causes. And Scotland’s friendliest city always delivers on the support front too, with crowds of locals turning out each year to cheer and high-five from beginning to end. Plus, there are medals, finisher t-shirts and bragging rights for all!
AJ Bell Great Scottish Run entries are open to runners aged 15+ (10k) and 17+ (Half marathon) on the day of the event. Booking fee (£2.50 per entry) and Glasgow Council Environmental Levy £2 + VAT (£2.40 per entry) is applied at checkout. If you have any queries about Great Run events, see our FAQ page.

Imagine if you had to struggle to breathe every day just from getting out of bed. Or you were living constantly worried about your heart or scared that you might have another stroke at any moment. Living with the reality of a long term health condition can be confusing and isolating. Every day activities such as picking up a knife and fork, making a cup of tea or leaving the house can feel like a massive challenge. Today, one in five people in Scotland are living with the effects of chest, heart and stroke conditions. More people than ever before need our stroke nurses, rehabilitation support workers and peer support groups. Motor neuron disease (MND) is a brutal terminal illness which can rapidly strip a person of their ability to walk, talk, swallow, and breathe unaided. Someone’s lifetime risk of developing MND is 1 in 300 and the average life expectancy is just 18 months from diagnosis. You can help MND Scotland fund pioneering research to take us closer to finding a cure for this devastating disease. Until that day comes, we are here to make time count for everyone affected by MND in Scotland, so families can spend the time they have left making precious memories with loved ones. Together, we will make time count and beat MND! Will you join us? To secure your free charity place, please email christine.clark@mndscotland.org.uk or call on 0141 332 3903.
